Cauliflower Manchurian

This is my own recipe. It is really easy to make. It takes 10 minutes to prepare and 30 minutes to cook. The ingredients I used are:

  • 1 small cauliflower, cut into florets

  • 1 red pepper, finely diced

  • 1 onion, finely diced

  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped

  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped

  • Thumb size ginger, crushed

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

For the batter:

  • 200g gram flour

  • 100ml water

  • 1 tsp  turmeric

  • 1 tsp red chilli powder

For the sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 4 tbsp Sriracha

For garnish:

  • Sesame seeds

  • Spring onion

Method:

  1. Add water, turmeric and red chilli powder to the gram flour, mix well and toss the cauliflower in. Deep fry until crispy. I’d recommend double dipping for crispier cauliflower!

  2. Add 2 tbsp vegetable oil to a pan on medium heat followed by the onions and let it cook for 3 minutes.

  3. Toss the ginger, garlic and chillies in and let them cook for 1 minute before adding the peppers.

  4. Add the soy sauce and sriracha and stir well. Let it cook for 2 minutes.

  5. Toss the cauliflower in the pan for 1 minute.

  6. Serve a generous portion with rice and garnish with spring onion and sesame seeds
